MATURE ENTRANCE TUTORIALS AND MOCK EXAMINATIONS

The Centre for Further Education, Training and Development, Gyimarco Institute wishes to inform prospective mature applicants and all stakeholders that a blended (online and in-person) mature entrance tutorials and mock examination exercise will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays at Gyimarco Institute and Partner Facilities. Extended registration in progress. 

Mature Learner Application Process

1. A mature applicant must pay GH₵1500.00 which encompasses the cost of mature learner application form, tutorials and mock examinations at Fidelity Bank (GWB, Lapaz or others) using the Account Name: GYIMARCO Catering and Events and Account Number: 2400827944516 by providing mature learner’s name and telephone number.
2. Applicants will be provided with their pay-in-slip at the bank which can be screenshot and sent to WhatsApp No.: 0592026056.
3. Applicants should then proceed to Gyimarco Institute’s admission office, Location: IA196 Kote St., Einstein Avenue, Omanjor-Sowutum, Accra to begin the mature learning application process (picking, filling and submitting a mature learner’s filled admission form).
4. Once the application process has been completed, the applicant must submit a copy of the completed application form together with one passport photograph and supporting documents to the institute.
5. The management of Gyimarco Institute will officially announce the commencement date for the mature learning cohorts and the mature learners will be expected to report to Gyimarco Institute and Partner facilities for orientation.
6. Mature Entrance Tutorials and Mock Examination Programme Structure: The mature entrance tutorials and mock examination programme will be a Twelve (12) – week blended (online weekdays, 5pm to 6pm-asynchronous and blended weekends, 8am to 12noon-synchronous/in-person) programme mounted on Gyimarco Institute and Partner campus. A variety of distance-based modalities will be adopted, including synchronous conferencing software (Zoom/Teams); asynchronous (pre-recorded) instruction via email/WhatsApp and the use of LMS (Commencement date to be announced). Communication channels include printed media, audioconferencing, videos, audio, audio-visuals and electronic mails (emails).

Guidelines for Mature Applicant Admission into Ghanaian Tertiary Institutions

Persons wishing to enter tertiary education institutions in Ghana as Mature Students must be at least 25 years old and show proof of age with a birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is at least 5 years old at the time of application.

Persons wishing to enter tertiary education institutions in Ghana are advised that they will be required to satisfy not only the tertiary institutions’ general entrance requirements but also the requirements of the particular programmes which they wish to enter and that these requirements vary considerably from institution to institution. 

Applicants will be considered for admission by tertiary institution of their choice on passing a special entrance examination  to be conducted by the University. Successful applicants after the examination may be admitted to a degree or diploma depending on their performance. Particulars of admission requirements may be obtained from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission and the tertiary institutions.
